    Description

    Souvenir card issued by the Souvenir Card Collectors Society (SCCS) for the organization's 1996 annual meeting, held that year at the CAPEX Philatelic Exhibition in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  This item is recognized as card N-8 in the SCCS numbering system.
    The card features an intaglio vignette showing the flags of the United States and Canada, whose poles are surrounded by a wreath, superimposed on a globe focusing on North America.  Based on the 46 stars in the U.S. flag, the engraving was likely produced between 1908 and 1912, when the country had 46 states.
    The card was produced for the SCCS by then-active BEP plate printer Mike Bean.
