    Description

Tokushi Katsuhira. Ten Japanese color woodblock prints. 45 Teppomachi, Akita [Japan], ca. 20th century.
Ten color woodblock prints, including title. Sheets measures approximately 16 x 11 ½ inches; 406 x 292 mm (some variability due to trimming), images measure 14 7/8 x 10 ¾ inches; 378 x 272 mm. Each sheet with Tokushi Katsuhira stamp unobtrusively to image in a bottom corner, additional stamps to margins. Each sheet pasted to mount on top of sheet verso. Colors bright and generally very attractive; a few instances of minor dampstaining and soiling, primarily to margins, not affecting images. Housed in a portfolio of paper over boards with blue silk ties and a label printed in red and black to front board; ties worn and frayed, boards somewhat stained and rubbed. With printed label affixed inside portfolio reading, "[these] original wood-block prints are painted, engraved and printed by T. Katsuhira." Near fine examples of 20th century Japanese woodblock prints, with vibrant colors and beautiful scenes.
