    Description

    Original unused dash plaque for the Plymouth Fury Pace Car at the Indianapolis 500. Adhesive is untouched and original. I do not know if it is still sticky but it is certainly original and unmolested. From a long term Chrysler Plymouth dealership (1933 to contested termination in 2009). Chrysler Corporation was honored with supplying the Pace Car for the Indy 500 in 1965 and the model used was the Plymouth Fury. Naturally a convertible was used. To commemorate this honor the factory produced and sent to many if not each of its  Plymouth dealers a dash plaque that could be placed on a Fury. It is worth noting that this plaque is rather heavy: I put it on a mail scale and it registered 1.1 ounces, pretty heavy but in keeping with the era. The approximate dimensions are 3 5/8 x 1 7/16 inches.
    While this plaque will not make your Fury a Pace Car that is not a point of concern as there were only a few true pace cars produced and used. If you want an original plaque this is the one. Of note I have seen some photos of "Pace Cars" that have a dash plaque with colors different from the plaque offered for sale here. I have no way of criticizing the restorations I have seen but rest assured that this is a factory original. Please feel free to comment if you have any other information. Thank you for your interest.
